Boston United kick off a ‘huge week’ by travelling to title-chasing AFC Fylde this evening.

The Pilgrims are looking to consolidate their place in the Vanarama North’s top five, but they know their task won’t be easy.

Boston beat Fylde 3-1 at the Jakemans Stadium in November, ending their opponents’ 14-game unbeaten run thanks to goals from Carl Piergianni (two) and Zak Mills.

But Dave Challinor’s side will be fired up, knowing victory would take them top of the table - a point clear of Barrow with a game in hand.

“It’s a huge week,” said Boston striker Mark Jones.

“If we can manage to get three or four points, or even six, it’ll stand us in good stead until the end of the season.”

Indeed, even a draw for the Pilgrims will see them remain in the play-off spots ahead of Saturday’s trip to fellow promotion chasers Guiseley.

However, defeat tonight would see them slip behind the Lions on goal difference while Stockport County - currently two points behind Boston - could also have their say this evening as they travel to face struggling Bradford Park Avenue, who Boston thumped 5-0 on Saturday.

Kick off at Kellamergh Park will be at 7.45pm.
