Boston United boss Graham Drury was left ‘frustrated’ after failing to take charge of his first match for the club.

The team coach got as far as their first pick-up at Newark, before news filtered through that Altrincham’s Moss Lane pitch was waterlogged.

“I’m very frustrated, I can’t wait to get up and away,” the manager said.

“We trained really hard for the two sessions this week.

“Now we’ll train on Christmas Eve and it’ll give me more time with the lads.”

Drury was named United boss on Monday, replacing Jason Lee.

United now host Drury’s former club Corbt Town on Boxing Day (KO 3pm).
