Boston United are out for revenge over their Easter Bank Holiday weekend double header, says Scott Garner
The Pilgrims skipper reckons nothing would be sweeter than to take six points from Oxford City and Tamworth, while solidifying a place in the Vanarama North’s top five.
Boston were thrashed 7-2 at home by Oxford in September, and now Garner - who scored both his team’s consolations - wants retribution at Marsh Lane on Saturday.
“I wasn’t happy. For a team to come here and score seven is so unusual,” he said.
“Everything they hit went in, it was one of those freak nights.
“We owe them one now. We want three points and I’m confident we’ll do it.
“Settling a score and getting three points come hand in hand, and that’s what we want to do.”
United then host play-off rivals Tamworth on Monday (KO 3pm), a game which could have a big say in the outcome of the promotion race.
“They’re up there as well. We just don’t want them to pick up any points,” Garner added.
“They must be fearing coming here.
“We’ll be on the front foot again.”
