Dennis Greene believes that one more victory will be enough for his old club Histon to secure safety... but he doesn’t want it to come against his Boston United side.
Greene will return to Bridge Road on Saturday (KO 3pm), just four months after ending his tenure as Stutes boss.
The manager officially left cash-strapped Histon by mutual consent.
Greene said: “Everyone knows the financial problems at Histon, and with them being full time it was very hard to bring in the right kind of player with any kind of experience.
“So what they had was a team of talented fit young players who just lacked that knowledge on the pitch, which is why they are where they are.
“It was very hard to bring in a top player with experience to go full time on minimal money.
“They do well to stay in this division each year and I’m sure they’ll stay in it again.
“One more win will see them safe, hopefully not against us.”
