Greene eyes positives

Dennis Greene believes his Boston United squad are in ‘better condition’ than when they last faced Corby Town.

On that occasion, back in September, a Dayle Southwell double and last-gasp finish from Scott Garner saw the Pilgrims pip the Steelmen to a 3-2 victory.

With Corby the guests at the Jakemans Stadium on Saturday (KO 3pm), the United manager is hoping his revitalised squad can claim another three points.

“We’re in better condition than when we last played Corby and we’re back at home, so you’d like to think we could get a positive result,” he said.

Boston will then travel to face Worcester City on Tuesday (KO 7.45pm) in another National League North fixture, where Greene is again targeting another success.

“If we play like we’ve done, then every game is winnable,” he added.

The Pilgrims were in league action last night as they hosted in-form Harrogate Town.

Harrogate, who are managed by ex-Pilgrims defender Simon Weaver, have hopes of a top-five finish this season.
