Gary Silk has returned to York Street - just six matches after being released by Boston United.
The defender was let go by manager Graham Drury due his university commitments, which meant the former Portsmouth, Grimby and Mansfield man couldn’t train on Thursdays.
Drury said that evening was when he wanted to implement tactical training ahead of the weekend’s fixture.
However, new boss Dennis Greene has no such qualms.
And he has moved to reinstate Silk, just four weeks on from his February 12 exit.
The 28-year-old was preparing to serve a three-match ban at the time of his United release — and is now suspension-free following the completion of three first team matches involving the Pilgrims.
Silk will be eligible to play for United on Saturday at Worcester City, although captain Anton Foster is suspended.
Boston forward Jordan Smith has joined Evo-Stik Premier side Grantham Town on loan.
The 24-year-old has scored once in 14 appearances for the Pilgrims, in the 7-1 defeat to Altrincham.
