Home-tie for United after cup giant-killing

BOSTON United have been rewarded with a home fixture in the second round of the FA Trophy — following Saturday’s giant-killing at York City.

The Pilgrims unseated Blue Square Bet Premier form side York at the weekend to book a second round clash at home to either Cirencester Town or Gloucester City, who replay at Whaddon Road tonight (Wednesday).

Gloucester are Blue Square Bet North rivals of the Pilgrims, while Cirencester ply their trade in the Premier Division of the Zamaretto League, and the winners of Wednesday’s replay will travel to Lincolnshire on January 15.

Spencer Weir-Daley struck the only goal of the game at Bootham Crescent on Saturday, but the goalscorer chose to look ahead to this Saturday’s important Blue Square Bet North encounter against Hyde FC (kick-off 3.00pm) — the Pilgrims’ first league clash since losing 4-0 at Droylsden on November 13.
