Injujry blows! Boston United's Thewlis and Middleton face weeks on sidelines

Boston United's Ben Middleton and Jordan Thewlis are facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

On-lon Harrogate striker Thewlis suffered ligament damage following a challenge from Josh O’Keefe in today’s draw at Chorley.

Manager Craig Elliott believes the striker’s debut could well be his last game for the Pilgrims.

“It’s not looking good. I’m absolutely gutted for the lad,” he said.

“I thought it was a bit of a bad challenge. He’s had a few bad injuries.

“He is the man I’ve been after for a while and I felt I’d solved the area I wanted to.

“It’s swollen up and he won’t be playing in the next few weeks.”

Middleton arrived at Victory Park wearing a compression boot after breaking a bone in his left foot in the gym.

Elliott added: “You’re talking two or three weeks at least, so you’ll be lucky to get him back early next year.

“It’s frustrating. He’s a good, aggressive player and we are missing him.”
