“It doesn’t matter who we play,” says Boston United’s Tom Ward

Tom Ward says Boston United should have no fear ahead of Saturday’s meeting with FC Halifax Town.

At present, the Shaymen are pushing for promotion, while the Pilgrims sit in mid-table in the Blue Square Bet North.

But having played his part as United earned a 2-1 success at the Shay, Ward believes Boston can take three points this weekend (KO 3pm).

“We’ve got a lot of good players here,” Ward told The Standard.

“Who we play doesn’t make a difference.

“It’s Boston United and we will always look to win games.”

“We’re a big club and people should be taking note of us anyway.”

Mark Jones and Marc Newsham netted for the Pilgrims in that victory, but the Shaymen aren’t the only big scalp the Pilgrims have taken so far this campaign.

Despite Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Chester, United beat the champions elect 3-2 at York Street earlier in the season, also notching up a 2-0 win at third-placed Brackley Town.
