Grant Roberts believes that Dennis Greene is a manager who can help him reach his full potential.

The midfielder joined Boston United earlier this month after Gainsborough Trinity told him he was able to look for another club.

And after becoming a free agent, Greene - who managed Roberts at Histon - snapped up the midfielder the following day.

That was a vote of confidence which has already inspired the 23-year-old.

“It was a few years since he saw me play at Histon, but it was nice to feel wanted,” Roberts told The Standard.

“Dennis knows how to get the best out of the lads here and hopefully he can do the same with me.

“I’m looking forward to working with him and the rest of the lads.”

Roberts also revealed how fellow Pilgrim Zak Mills, also a teammate at the Stutes, played his part in the movewhich saw him arrive at the Jakemans Stadium.

“I asked him if he could have a word (with the manager) and he’s ended up bringing me in,” Roberts added.

“Zak keeps saying he wants a percentage of my wages, but I’m not sure about that.”
