He may have joined Boston United as a defender, but Liam Marrs has admitted that he loves to get forward.
In his opening three matches for the club, the right back has impressed with his tenacious tackling.
But the on-loan Sunderland man says he also loves to get involved in attack.
“I’ve always been taught that I’ve got to get forward,” said the 20-year-old, who has been coached at the Black Cats’ youth academy for the past eight years.
“I’ve been taught that I’ve go to support the attack as well as getting back.
“I enjoy getting forward and, hopefully, I can create a few goalscoring opportunities.
“That’s a part of my game.”
Boston have given Marrs his first taste of senior football, and it is something he is relishing.
He added: “I’ve always worked hard.
“I’ve worked at my game for the past few years and it’s nice that something like this has come up.”
