Ricky Miller admitted he was ‘over the moon’ to win Boston United’s Player of the Year award.
But the 28-goal striker was quick to admit his accolade came with help from his teammates and boss Dennis Greene.
He said: “I’m absolutely over the moon. It’s a bit of recognition for all the hard work you put in on and off the field.
“But the lads have been a different class all year.
“And the gaffer stuck with me in the first half of the season when I wasn’t scoring goals.”
Defender Carl Piergianni got the nod from the dressing room, being voted the Players’ Player of the Year.
He added: “It’s great to be recognised, especially for the Players’ Player award.
“I thank the lads for voting for me. It’s a special one for me as it’s nice to be recognised by your teammates.
“Me and Ricky have won the awards, but we’re nothing without the rest of the team
“If we were alongside other players that aren’t as good we wouldn’t be performing in the way we have been doing.
“A lot of the credit has to go to the team and not just individuals.”
