TWO penalties from Marc Newsham failed to stop Boston United from falling to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Worcester City at the Jakemans Stadium last night.
The Pilgrims’ second defeat in a row has all but killed their faint play-off hopes, leaving them 11 points off the pace with just six Blue Square Bet North games left to play.
Boston fell behind twice through Michael Taylor and Mike Symons, but both times pulled level from the spot through Newsham.
Earlier in the night the forward had received a memento from chairman David Newton for reaching the 50-goal landmark for the club.
Sadly for Newsham he was unable to mark the occasion with a win, with Matt Birley ensuring 7th-placed Worcester took all three points with a 67th minute penalty.
