Boston United striker Marc Newsham came through his first 45 minutes of match action for five-and-a-half months last night.
The goal grabber - who has netted 107 times for the Pilgrims, leaving him sixth in the club’s all-time goalscoring standings - played half the match as Boston United’s under 21s hosted Mansfield Town’s youngsters.
Newsham’s last appearance for the Pilgrims came in the goalless draw at Altrincham on April first.
Since then he has been hampered by a knee injury.
Goals from David Fallah and Jay Dowie gave the Pilgrims a 2-1 victory last night.
Fallah opened the scoring in the 32nd minute before the Stags appeared to have snatched a draw in the 89th minute.
But seconds later Dowie sealed victory with a close-range finish.
