Dennis Greene admits he may have to field two different-looking teams this weekend.
Boston United travel to face Oxford City on Saturday before hosting Tamworth on Monday.
Both opponents are also gunning for a top-five finish, but with the Lambs looking more of a threat of taking Boston’s play-off spot, the manager looks set to rest a few regulars on Saturday.
Strikers Mark Jones and Dayle Southwell are both carrying knocks and, with United fearing that they may not recover quickly enough to play twice in three days, both in-form strikers may be benched.
That could mean a return for Marc Newsham, who has only made one start in the past 12 matches.
Jake Sheridan also looks set to miss this weekend’s action due to a hamstring injury picked up during Saturday’s victory over Worcester.
“That’s what happens as soon as the transfer window closes, players start dropping like flies,” Greene said.
Jake Hall, who re-joined the club last week, looks set to play a role this weekend.
“Jake will probably play a part at the weekend. I want to mix it up a little bit,” Greene added.
