The pressure is on Nuneaton ahead of Saturday’s crunch National League North clash, says Boston United’s Carl Piergianni.
The Boro - who travelled to face Gloucester City last night - are hoping that their game in hand will help them overtake the Pilgrims and snatch the final play-off place.
However, to do that they would have to claim a positive result at the Jakemans Stadium this Saturday (KO 3pm).
But Piergianni believes that puts an additional weight on the visitors’ shoulders.
“It is in our hands,” he said. “It’s a massive game against Nuneaton, but they’ve got so much pressure on them to keep on winning.
“It’s a lot to make up.
“The pressure is on them but if we keep winning our games there ain’t no way were not going to be in there.”
Manager Dennis Greene is confident his side can secure a high five for the second season running.
But he is calling on the club’s fans to charge up the atmosphere.
He added: “Winning next week will make it really hard for Nuneaton to overhaul us.
“If they win they’ll be in the play-offs, if we win we’ll be in the play-offs.
“We need a real big gate and that place rocking.
“Win next week and we’ll be in, I’m sure.”
