BOSTON United winger Ryan Semple is looking to get one over his old roommate Roberto Martinez.
The Wigan manager led his side to Premier League safety with victory at Stoke on Sunday.
And now the Latics will arrive at the Jakemans Stadium for a pre-season friendly on July 23.
“The fact that we’ll be playing a friendly against Wigan as a Premier League side makes it even more exciting for everyone,” said Semple, who roomed with Martinez as Chester City teammates.
“I was happy for Roberto. I always knew he’d make a good manager - he was football through and through.
“At Chester he’d always make time to talk to the younger players, lead by example and make them want to play the game as well as they could.
“Hopefully, the fans will all come out to watch that game. It’s one I really want to be involved in.”
Wigan’s assistant manager is ex-United striker Graeme Jones.
