Gregg Smith is back in training, but the Pilgrims striker says he is still a long way off match action.
The nine-goal striker fractured his ankle during the New Year’s Day win at Gainsborough Trinity.
But despite a return to light training, the forward says he won’t be forcing the issue.
“It’s good to be out there again,” he said.
“I’m a long, long way off to be fair and I’m just slowly, slowly working my way back into things.
“It’s been horrible, horrible - there’s no other way to put that.
“But at the end of the day I’ve got to work hard and take my time with things.
“If I rushed things it could make everything worse. That’s the last thing anybody wants.”
Smith remains under contract until the end of next season, andbelieves that security offers him the chance to focus on just being the best he can be for Boston United.
He added: “I was grateful for the deal.
“I’m just thankful I don’t have anything to worry about in the summer.
“I can just focus on my performances.
“I can’t thank the fans or anybody enough for the support I’ve been given.
“It’s hard not being involved because I was flying, the last thing I wanted was an injury.”
