Mark Jones says that partnering in-form Dayle Southwell is a ‘joy’.
Southwell netted a hat-trick on Saturday as United brushed aside Harrogate Town 5-2, taking his tally to 23 goals this season.
But Jones says there is no professional jealousy.
“Dayle’s great. He’s a joy to play up front with,” said Jones, who scored two goals himself this weekend and has now notched eight times in the past eight contests.
“He’s not just a poacher, he scores goals from everywhere. It’s a joy to play with him.
“He works hard and so do I, when you work hard you get your results.
“That’s a positive.”
Manager Dennis Greene was full of praise for his first-choice strike duo, who will both remain at the club next season.
“They’re just phenomenal together, what a great pair they are at the moment,”
