IAN Ross curled home a last-minute free kick to earn Boston United a 2-2 draw with a Hull City XI last night.
In an open game with chances aplenty, Joseph French put the Pilgrims 1-0 up in the fifth minute with a superb 25-yard strike that went in off Mark Oxley’s far post.
But the development side representing the Championship club bounced back instantly, with Johnny Margetts tapping home from close range.
The same player scored an almost carbon copy goal in the second half to seemingly give Hull victory.
But in added time, Boston were awarded a free kick on the edge of the Tigers’ penalty area.
With Oxley arranging his wall, Ross acted quickly, firing into the unguarded net to earn Boston a draw, much to the chagrin of the visitors.
