We need to make York Street a place that’s hard to come! Ben Davies says Boston United’s home form must improve

Ben Davies believes Boston United need to rediscover that winning feeling at the Jakemans Stadium ahead of York City’s visit.

The Pilgrims’s home form has been a bone of contention this season, with Craig Elliott’s side playing out four wins and five defeats in the National League North, as well as suffering defeats to Peterborough Sports and Lincoln United in the FA Cup and Lincs Senior Cup.

United go into Saturday’s fixture on the back of two consecutive home defeats, to Brackley and Southport, and Davies believes it is time to stop the rot.

He said: “The big issue is we need to get our home form right.

“We need to be a place that’s hard to come to, that’s what it is.

“We owe the fans a couple of good results there.”

The Plgrims sit ninth in the table, with the Minstermen five places and two points behind.

York are unbeaten in their last three matches in all competitions, but have lost their last three away fixtures in the league.

Tomorrow’s contest kicks off at 3pm.
