Dennis Greene has joked that he’ll take his squad to celebrate at TOWIE nightspot Sugar Hut if they seal a spot in the Vanarama North’s play-offs.

The Boston United manager made the quip when discussing new signing Jake Hall, who is currently starring in ITVBe show The Only Way Is Essex.

“He’s a good lad and I’m sure he’ll make the dressing room a bit more lively,” said Greene when asked about Hall’s reurn to the Jakemans Stadium.

“He’s an all-action player, he’ll press and he’ll work hard.

“Hopefully he can play in a game where we can get into the play-offs as we’ll all be going down to Sugar Hut afterwards.”

The Brentwood night spot rose to national fame after appearing in TOWIE.

And although Greene would love a night of champagne popping to celebrate a top-five finish - or, better still, a promotion -he knows that the hard work is still to be done.

Hall, who played 15 times for United last season before leaving due to travelling problems, was signed as cover on deadline day for the season’s run-in.

And he looks likely to feature this weekend as the Pilgrims face a Bank Holiday double header against fellow promotion rivals - at Oxford City on Saturday and home to Tamworth on Monday (both KO 3pm).

Although Hall hasn’t played regular football since leaving Billericay earlier this season, the Pilgrims manager is adamant that his ability shouldn’t be questioned.

“I’m sure next weekend, over one of those games, he can take part,” Greene added.

“He’s always loved his football. He’s only a 24-year-old and he wants to play football.

“Obviously, he’s going down a different route with the Essex thing, but he’s still in the gym working hard and staying fit.

“He’s boxing training and doing all his stuff. He’ll be physically fit.”

United go into the Easter weekend’s action on ther back of five straight victories, which has propelled them back up into fifth in the standings.

And Greene would love a repeat of that from his squad.

He added: “We want to win 10 out of 10 and go into the play-offs the form team.

“It’s edgy isn’t it. But they (United) look strong don’t they.”
