What a waste! Murray stunned by more missed chances

Adam Murray was left cursing ‘wasted chances’ as his Boston United side slumped to a shock defeat at home to Altrincham.

Elliott Newby’s 32nd minute strike proved the difference.

But by the time the Robins - who started the day rock bottom of the national League North - had found the net Boston had again seen an impressive start come to nothing.

“You can’t create those types of chances and not take them in the opening minutes, for me the game should be done and dusted,” Murray said.

“You take a chance, shut up shop and take three valauble points.

“We didn’t take the chances and conceded a sloppy goal.

“You physically see certain players fold.

“The team looks a shell of the team, it starts to fold and lacks that belief.

“We’ve got to encourage the opposite.”
