Can Boston United keep their incredible 18-year unbeaten league run against Tamworth going?

The Pilgrims will host the Lambs in National League North action on Tuesday (KO 7.45pm).

You have to go as far back as November 28, 1998 for Tamworth’s last league success against United, a 4-2 victory in Staffordshire, when Paul Watts netted both Boston’s goals.

Since then the Pilgrims have recorded six wins and three draws in nine league meetings.

Tamworth did get the measure of Boston in an FA Trophy contest, their sole meeting in the 2013-14 season, while Boston earned a 3-0 Trophy success over the Lambs in the 2000-01 campaign.

United signed midfielder Shane Clarke from Tamworth this summer, but he will not be fit to feature due to his long-term Achilles injury.

Boston, meanwhile, may have to find a new way past the Lambs as departed striker Dayle Southwell scored in the past three meetings.
