Craig Elliott wants to take his first points of Brackley Town - and he believes his Boston United squad are more than capable of delivering.

The Pilgrims boss has suffered three straight defeats against the Saints since taking over at York Street.

And although he has plenty of respect for Brackley - who have recorded six wins and a draw in seven visits to Boston - he is adamant his squad is now better equipped to get one over tonight’s visitors.

“They’ve always had a strong team since I’ve been at Boston and they’ve always been difficult games,” Elliott said.

“But we’ve got a stronger team now and we’re looking forward to seeing how we do against them.

“Brackley will a be a test, but they’re not looking forward to coming to us either, we’re stronger than we have been in the last 18 months.”

Town sit third in the National League North, two places and five points above Boston.

They have been one of the division’s top sides in recent seasons but, despite winning the FA Trophy in 2018, Elliott admits he is a little surprised they have not earned a promotion.

“I am a little bit to be honest,” he said.

“They’ve got a good side, good players. The FA Trophy was perhaps a bit of a distraction, but they’re a consistent side.

“It just hasn’t quite happened for them yet, but it should be a good game.”

Kick off will be at 7.45pm.
