Leading scorer Josh Ford has left Boston Town to join UCL Premier league leaders Spalding United.
The Tulips made a seven-day approach for the hotshot, who has netted 17 times for the Poachers this season.
Town boss Nathan Collins said the door will remain open.
He added: “He’s been offered more money to join the team on his doorstep who are top of the league - it’s a no-brainer for him.
“We wish him well and hopefully he can go on to score a lot of goals in a higher division next season.
“I’ve told him that if things don’t work out then he can always give me a call.”
