Ex-Boston United striker Frank Mulhern joins Spennymoor Town

Frank Mulhern has joined Spennymoor Town.

The striker - who told The Standard he is still open to one day switching to Rugby League - ended the campaign at Boston United on loan from National League Stockport County.

He remained with United until their play-off final defeat to Altrincham, but then became a free agent before switching to the Moors.

Mulhern, who won the National League North title with the Hatters, scored once in 10 appearances with the Pilgrims, during the 3-1 victory over York City, but fell down the pecking order towards the end of the campaign, starting just one of the final five matches.

George Willis, Jonathan Wafula, Alex Whittle, Ashley Jackson, Simon Ainge, Martyn Woolford, Ben Middleton and Matt Challoner have also left United.
