Boston Town have swooped to sign four new players as the UCL Premier season fast approaches.

Striker Liam Nimmo, utility player Mark Thompson and teenagers George Stainfield and Frazer Bayliss all joined following Saturday’s 1-0 pre-season friendly victory over Peterborough Sports.

“Liam’s a clever player and a very good finisher,” said boss Ian Dunn, following Saturday’s match, in which Nimmo scored the only goal.

“He brings those elements and will compliment the strikers we already have.

“Tommo can play across the back and in midfield.

“He’s got a lot of experience and rarely gives the ball away.

“In some games we have panicked in possession before. We need someone like him who can unlock doors.”

Dunn admits that teenagers Stainfield - the brother of former Boston United defender Nathan - and Bayliss were brought to the club with one eye on the future.

However, he added: “They’ve both got bright futures and could be the sort of players who win us the league in years to come.

“But we have to keep them interested and support them by letting them play.”

Town will kick off their UCL Premier campaign at home to Cogenhoe on August 10 (KO 3pm). This will be followed by a midweek derby at home to title favourites Spalding United on August 13 (KO 7.45pm).

Town host Skegness United tonight (Wednesday, KO 7.45pm), March Town on Saturday (KO 3pm) and Harrowby on Tuesday (KO 7.45pm).
