FOOTBALL: Lincs League round-up

Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League leaders Sleaford Town Reserves have extended their advantage at the top of the pile, thanks to a Liam Tunstall hat-trick.

Tunstall’s treble bagged three points for Sleaford’s second string at Ruston Sports, who slipped to the bottom of the table as a result.

With the rest of the top five dropping points, Sleaford took full advantage to widen the gap to eight points.

Hero Tunstall has been turning out for Sleaford’s United Counties League outfit this season, but while they were battling away for a place in the later stages of the FA Vase in Sunderland, Tunstall was helping the second string to cement their place at the top of the Lincs League.

It was his first outing for the Reserves and it proved to be a useful addition to the squad.

The defeat dumped Rustons on to the bottom rung of the league ladder.

Second place remains in the hands of Lincoln Railway AFC, who were held to a 3-3 draw by fifth placed Brigg Town Reserves.

The match of the day at The Causeway between Wyberton and the visiting Skegness Town also finished all square, while champions Hykeham Town made up ground on the chasing pack with victory over CGB Humbertherm.

Ten-man Market Rasen Town drew with local rivals Horncastle Town at Rase Park, while Cleethorpes Town Development Squad doubled the gap between them and eighth placed Skegness United with victory at Wainfleet Road.
