Boston United’s impressive start to the season has seen the goals shared amongst the squad.

The Pilgrims have netted eight times in two competitive matches with seven different players on the scoresheet.

Terry Hawkridge, Jordan Burrow, Luke Shiels and Fraser Preston netted during Saturday’s 4-2 FA Cup win over AFC Mansfield.

And on Tuesday United kicked off their National League North campaign with a 4-0 win at Leamington, Paul Green, Shiels, Scott Garner and Jordan Thewlis grabbing the goals.

Five of the goals scored so far have come from dead ball deliveries, which has pleased the manager.

“You can see we’re getting plenty of players in the box and we’re looking a threat from set pieces,” said Elliott, who made five changes on Tuesday.

“We’ve got a good balance to us.”

Leamington had been a bogey side for Elliott prior to last season’s 1-0 victory at York Street, and Elliott was pleased to get one over Paul Holleran a second time.

“It’s a difficult place to come. I’ve got a lot of respect for the manager and the club and what they do,” he told Boston United’s YouTube channel.

“But from our point of view, to get a clean sheet and the win - you can’t ask for more.

“That first goal was massive and thankfully we got that. We were right at it, effective in both boxes.

“They put the ball on you and ask you questions. We had the answers.”
