Josh Ford scored four times as Boston Town won 5-4 at basement side Irchester United - in one of the craziest matches of the UCL Premier season.
The Poachers striker took his tally to 19 for the campaign, one short of the target set for him by managers Ian Dunn and Matt Hocking.
And with four matches to go, he could well reach that mark.
However, he won’t be involved in many games as open as this again.
The contest was just just seven minutes old when Ford completed his hat-trick.
Lori Borbely appeared to have got the final touch on one of the finishes, although the goal was credited to Ford.
But with the Poachers coasting, the relegated Romans were handed a lifeline when they were awarded a penalty.
This breathed life into the home side who shocked Town by surging into a 4-3 lead.
But Boston weren’t giving up and pulled level through player-boss Dunn.
Then Ford grabbed his fourth, and three points, when he converted from the spot, after Borbely had been upended.
Town now travel to face Desborough on Tuesday (KO 7.45pm).
