Tom Hopper marked his Scunthorpe United debut with a goal on Saturday.

The Stickney footballer slotted home from close range as the Iron left Walsall with a 4-1 victory in League One.

Hopper - a product of Boston United’s youth system and the youngest-ever player to represent the Pilgrims - has joined Scunthorpe on loan from Premier League Leicester City.

Despite signing a new two-year contract with the Foxes in May, the 21-year-old striker (pictured) is yet to feature in the Premier League, despite being named on the bench for Nigel Pearson’s side.

And with Leicester looking set to break their club transfer record to bring £9.7m-rated Andrej Kramaric to the King Power Stadium this month, Hopper has joined the north Lincolnshire club to keep up his match fitness.
