Mablethorpe Athletic through after late Brownson double
Athletic defeated Skegness United Development 3-2 after extra time to progress to the next round.
After making a slow start and conceding an early goal. Mablethorpe levelled when Paul Mail netted on his return with a neat finish.

Hide AdBut Skegness restored their lead on the stroke of half-time.
Both sides created chances in the second half, but didn’t take them and it looked like there would be no further goals.
That was until Adam Brownson struck late on to force extra time and then won the match with his second as a penalty shoot-out loomed.
Manager Mick Stubbs said: “We made hard work of the game. There could have been even more goals, but both teams struggled in the final third.

Hide Ad“We started a bit sloppily and conceded an early goal, but we came back strongly.
“We were the stronger team in the second half, but struggled to find the net. Thankfully, Adam Brownson scored with about six minutes of normal time left.
“We pressed hard in extra time and Brownson sealed the win with a good finish.
“Our man-of-the-match Dave Quinn (pictured) won and used the ball well, and it was great to have Paul Mail back, too.”
