Martyn Woolford has joined Gainsborough Trinity.

The 34-year-old has moved to the Northolme from Boston United, where he made 19 appearances last season.

Winger Woolford was not involved in the Pilgrims' 20-man National League North play-off squad, and leaves with the best wishes of manager Craig Elliott.Trinity boss Curtis Woodhouse was delighted to land the former Sheffield United and Bristol City man.

"Woolly's played 500 league games," he told the Holy Blues' YouTube channel.

"He's got bags of ability and we're very fortunate to get him. He'll be a great player for us.

"One thing we lacked last season was composure in the middle of the park. I was looking for a midfield orchestrator and Woolly will be that man."

Woolford is the latest member of this season's Pilgrims squad to find a new club, following on from Ben Middleton, George Green and Tom Clare.MORE PILGRIMS: Play-off semi to be streamedMORE PILGRIMS: Scott Garner has 'unfinished business'MORE PILGRIMS: Alex Whittle still searching for first play-off success
