Paul Green shrugs off injury and targets three points as Boston United prepare to face Farsley Celtic

Paul Green has shrugged off an ankle injury and is targeting three points as Boston United face Farsley Celtic today.

The Pilgrims are looking to extend their unbeaten run to six matches at The Citadel, where the Celt Army are yet to lose a National League North fixture this season.

Green picked up an ankle injury in the FA Trophy victory over AFC Fylde but, following a late cameo off the bench in Saturday's 2-0 league win against Alfreton Town, the former Leeds United and Republic of Ireland midfielder is feeling back to his best.

"I just twisted it against Fylde and I was still feeling it a little touch, but I was fit enough for 10 minutes and it felt fine, I'll be ready Monday," said Green, who has enjoyed seeing the club return to the play-off spots.

"It's nice to get back to winning ways, especially in the league. We weren't worried in the changing room with the games in hand we had.

"We know the ability of everyone in the changing room and we know we're going to be there and thereabouts. Winning games will get us up that table."

Since the Pilgrims returned from their latest fortnight of self isolation, Pontefract-based Green has seen Boston play four times at the Jakemans Community Stadium, plus make treks to Fylde, Gloucester Blyth and Evesham.

Now he is looking forward to a little home advantage of his own this afternoon (KO 3pm).

"It's a short trip for me, just into Leeds," he added. "We need to be ready for Monday and get the three points.

"When I was at Leeds we played them in pre-season, so I have visited Farsley before. But there are some new teams I haven't played before.

"It's a bit of an eye opener but I'm professional and I get on with it. We're here to win games, that's what we're trying to do."
