Boston Town will be looking to haul themselves off the bottom of the United Counties League Premier Division with victory at home against Oadby on Saturday.

The Poachers currently sit 22nd in the standings.

The deadline for applications for the vacant management job at the DWB Stadium closed on Monday, and chairman Mick Vines and his board will now try to find a suitable boss for the dug-out.

But in the meantime, Lori Borbely and Darren Bevan will continue to take control of first-team affairs, beginning with the clash against Oadby.

Oadby, also nicknamed the Poachers, sit 19th in the table with six points, two ahead of Boston.

However, victory could see Town leapfrog their opposition.

Kick off will be at 3pm.

The curse of conceding late goals came back to haunt Boston Town again on Saturday.

The Poachers were dumped out of the FA Vase as Walsham Le Willows left the DWB Stadium with a 3-2 victory.

The away side took an early lead after a late kick-off, due to the visitors being delayed on their way from Suffolk.

Alex Beck levelled for Boston, capitalising on a defensive mix-up, before Curtis Revell made it 2-1 with a fine finish.

The Poachers led for much of the second half, but two goals in quick succession saw the Eastern Counties League side through to the next round of the FA Vase.

Town were beaten 2-0 at home in the Knockout Cup by old foes Holbeach United last Wednesday.

Jordan Thomas and former player Aaron Eyett netted the winning goals at the DWB Stadium.
