Gary Frost is challenging his Boston Town squad to prove they should be higher up the United Counties League Premier Division table.
The Poachers sit 13 points clear of the drop and appear likely to finish outside of the relegation zone thanks to a surge in recent form.
But as Town prepare to host 11th-placed Wellingborough Town at the DWB Stadium on Saturday (KO 3pm) Frost is looking at the bigger picture.
“If you look at our form in recent weeks then we’ll be up there,” he said.
“We should be around the top eight near where Wellingborough and those teams are.
“There’s no reason why games like this aren’t winnable. We should be looking at trying to get three points from the game.
“If we’d been playing like we are now all season then we wouldn’t be where we are.”
Town were beaten 3-0 at home by runaway leaders Peterborough Sports on Saturday.
The scoreline was barely eyebrow raising in a game where the Poachers, looking to edge further away from the bottom two, were beaten by their highflying guests, even if Frost saw the scoreline as ‘flattering’ to the away side.
Avelino Vieira, Josh Moreman and Lewis Webb were the machwinners.
But Harrowby’s 12-0 stuffing at Eynesbury means the Poachers remain 13 points clear of the drop.
