Boston-area riders will be going for glory at the Robert Chatterton Trophy.
The event will kick-start the super speedtrack season at the Wainfleet and District Sporting Motorcycle Club on Sunday.
The adult classes include 500cc, 350cc and 250cc solos, plus the awesome 1,000cc sidecars.
The 1,000cc sidecars will see 12 top teams competing, including Friskney’s Colin Blackbourn and his passenger Carl Smith.
Opposition will come from Robbie Wilson and Bradley Steer (Kent) and Peter Lloyd and Daz Whetstone (Warwickshire).
In the solo 500cc class, Boston’s Mark Richardson and ex-Boston Barracuda Dean Garrod will be competing against Lincolnshire’s Michael Faulkner, Ben Fen-Smith, Jamie Fen-Smith and last year’s champion, Andrew Whitaker, from Dewsbury.
The 250ccs will see ex-British champion David Knowles (York) and former Barracuda Ricky Scarboro in the mix, along with Ricky’s son Kurtis.
The meeting will also support a small group of youth riders aged from six to 16, including Wrangle’s Mickie Simpson (pictured), who is one to look out for in the future.
At present the Irby-on-the-Marsh track looks in perfect condition, and there is also a good forecast for the weekend.
Racing begins at 1.30pm.
Admission costs £12 (£10 OAPs, £5 children 12-16, under 12s go free).
