Wyberton were dumped out of the Challenge Cup by Lincolnshire League leaders Skegness.
Another meeting with Skegness would not have been one Wyberton would have relished, having been on the receiving end of a 7-1 result away to the seasiders last month.
The final 5-1 scoreline in the cup tie was little better for them, though the seasiders did score three of those in the dying minutes.
After a goal-less first half, it only took three minutes into the second half for Skegness to open the scoring, James Doughty parrying a shot, only for the ball to fall to Davison who found the back of the net.
It was soon 2-0 with Britton on target.
An excellent strike from Elliott Pogson brought the home side back into the game, before the seasiders’ three-goal flurry in the final five minutes, with two more for Britton and one for Nichols.
