Town wary of the Bucks’ fizz

Dan Barrett has no doubts that basement side Long Buckby will be eager to gain revenge over his Boston Town side.

Last month the Poachers claimed all three UCL Premier points at the Bucks’ expense following a 2-0 victory at the DWB Stadium.

Goals from Alex Beck and Jack Wightwick settled the contest.

But on Saturday, just two weeks after their first meeting, the Poachers will head off to Station Road for the away fixture.

The Bucks sit bottom of the standings, having won two and drawn four of their 24 contests.

But despite their poor run of form - which saw them last win a match on January 6, at home to Oadby - Barrett says his team can take nothing for granted, having seen their intentions during the previous match-up

“Long Buckby will be a very hard game,” he told The Standard.

“They came to us and wanted all three points.

“They will be up for it, that’s a cert.

“This week will be an interesting one.”

Thirteenth-placed Town are keen to bounce back following Saturday’s 4-2 home defeat, incidentally against Oadby.
