Wyberton’s hopes of lifting the Lincolnshire League title were given a boost when title rivals Skegness Town slipped up at Brigg Town Reserves on Saturday.
Gary Frost’s side were without a fixture on Saturday when opponents CGB Humbertherm were unable to raise a side for their clash at the Causeway.
However, they were buyoed by her news that the Lilywhites were beaten by the Zebras by a solitary goals.
Wyberton remain third in the standings, six points behind Skegness and five points behind Sleaford Town Reserves, but with two games in hand.
They also have their two title rivals to play, but first they travel to face eighth-placed Cleethorpes Town Development Squad on Saturday (KO 3pm).
