Freiston, Leake and Leverton began their inaugural South Lincs and Border League Division Two campaign in the worst possible fashion as they were soundly beaten by nine wickets against Long Sutton.
After being put in to bat, Freiston lost both openers with only 11 on the board.
Captain Rob Sexton made 11 before he was caught at mid wicket, becoming the first of four victims for Simpson.
Sunil Panjwani soon followed as he was bowled by Burton’s first delivery for three.
Richard Paul (10) and Martin Hodgson (16) soon went as Freiston were bowled out for a meagre 58.
Long Sutton were ruthless in their reply.
Openers Wright and Booth put on 14 for the first wicket as they successfully blunted the Freiston attack.
Wright was trapped LBW by Tommy Atkinson in the only plus point for the hosts.
The left handed Booth made batting look easy as he struck nine fours in his unbeaten 42 which eased Long Sutton to a comprehensive victory.
On Saturday, Freiston travel to Grantham Seconds.
