Boston Cricket Club’s Second XI lost out by 14 runs at home to Heckington.

In a tight South Lincs and Border League Division One contest, Heckington batsmen Chris Morley and Damon Tunnicliffe proved the difference.

Morley reached 91 before being bowled by Kev Brooks, while Lewis Holmes dismissed Tunnicliffe on 64.

Take those two out of the equation and Nathan Thompson was their top scorer on 14.

Brooks (three), Lewis Holmes (two), Gareth Epton and Peter Mitchell claimed the wickets as the visitors finished on 203-8.

Boston opener Dave Gilding led by example as he struck 89 runs, with back-up from Peter Mitchell (11), Callum McNulty (27) and Jack Lawrence (10) seeing Boston end on 189-5, just short of their target.

Boston CC’s Thirds lost by 26 runs at home to Long Sutton Seconds in the South Lincs and Border League Division Two.

Sutton were bowled for 74, with Steve Appleyard (six), Vikram Kippy and Kevin Manning among the wickets.
