Grant falls one run short of his 50

Rob Grant struck 49 runs for Friskney CC during their South Lincs and Border League Division One defeat to Billingborough Seconds on Saturday.

The opener was one short of his half century when he was caught off a Richard Wells delivery.

Grant top scored but other good knocks from Martin Hodgson (31), Jon Wilson (28), Nick Snell (24), Mitch Griffiths (17), Dan Fox (14), Wills Barker (13), and Liam Maskell (11) saw Friskney reach 214 before they were dismissed on the 41st over.

Billingborough eventually reached their winning total in the 42nd over, scoring 215 for the loss of eight wickets.

Barker claimed four Billingborough wickets for the loss of 38 runs from his 12 overs.

Hodgson took two scalps (2-61), while Maskell (1-26) and Damien Lawson (1-29) also took victims.
