Dan Milgate struck 76 runs for Friskney on Saturday, but they were in vain as Woodlands left with a one-wicket victory.

Friskney began well in their South Lincs and Border League Division One contest.

Mitch Griffiths’ 27 supported Milgate early on, while Rob Grant’s 13 and an unbeaten 11 runs from Wills Barker helped the hosts post a score of 167 before they were all out in the 36th over.

In response, Woodlands reached their target of 168 for the loss of nine wickets, doing so in the 53rd over.

Wickets were taken by Milgate (3-14), Martin Hodgson (3-44), Barker (2-24) and Joe Gilbert (1-16).

Sarath Updadhya recorded an unbeaten 44 runs to finish as Woodlands’ top scorer.
