Boston Tennis Club’s Ladies Firsts recorded a victory at West Bridgford in the Aegon Team Tennis Regional League.
The team for this match was Emma Mastin (captain), Lucy Hull, Danielle Frankish and Emily Hawkesworth.
Lucy came through to win a three-setter at number one seed whilst two other singles went Boston’s direction.
The doubles went to the Nottinghamshire side, only for Boston to win the all-important tie-break shootout.
The Boston Men’s Firsts - Henry Beesley, Lewis Fisher, Mike Burnett and Alex Cobb - went down 8-4 at Lutterworth in the Regional League.
They competed closely and came out the right side of two of the three three setters in the first round, but the doubles went against them.
It was also the first weekend of competition for teams in the junior Aegon Team Tennis Premier Leagues, which included Boston Tennis Club’s 14 and under Girls’ team.
The girls won 8-4 against their Warwickshire opponents.
Angela Halton, Alice Gamman, Christie Halton and Faith Coffey won three singles rubbers and one of the doubles.
The Ladies’ Second team beat Louth the previous weekend in the Lincolnshire Division of Aegon Team Tennis.
Captain Chloe Robinson, Emma Mastin, Charlotte Priestley, Chloe Robinson, Tabitha Priestley and Rachel Hawkesworth won 8-4.
In the Lincolnshire Seniors Summer League there were emphatic wins for both Boston Tennis Club’s Men’s and Ladies’ Seconds.
Ray Frankish, James Newton, Chris Cook and David Makins dropped only one set at Scotter in the first division.
The Ladies’ Seconds - Claire Smith, Jenny McGarel, Catherine Ellis and Linda Barrow - had an emphatic 8-0 win against Boston Thirds’ Helen Motson, Jude Green, Denise Priestley and Helen Duckett.
