Boston West Golf Club’s Seniors’ May Medal was won by Errol Appleby with a nett 68.

John Baker was second with nett 70 and Glyn Morgan finished third, also with a nett 70.

The Captain’s Home Day was a stableford match, won by Gerald Green. He returned to the clubhouse with 39 points, enough to see off challenges from John Chain (37 points) and third-placed Royce Twigg (also on 37 points).

In fourth was Ricky Elms with 36 points.

The veterans’ section was won by Arnold Bennett with 36 points.

The first team match of the month was played away against Blankney, and the home team won 6-2.

The two winning pairs were Stewart Pikett and Peter Kelly (2-1) and John Chain with John Clark (2-1).

A second match saw Boston West beaten 5-3 at Seacroft.

The winning teams were Stewart Pikett with John Chain (3-2) and Phil Thomas with Ken Ashforth (1-0).

Peter Kelly with Terry Coulter and Errol Appleby with Geoff Upsall both drew their games.

The last match of the month was away to Toft, the home team winning 5.5 - 2.5.

Boston West’s winning pairs were Andy Frankowski and Arnold Bennett (1-0) and Ricky Elms and Ken Ashforth (2-1) with Stewart Pikett and Mike Rowe drawing their game.
