A successful day was had by four runners from the Boston area at the Lincolnshire Cross Country Championships, held at Riseholme College near Lincoln on Sunday.
Cally Priestley, from Kirton End, was running in her first county championships and came sixth in a strong field of under 13 girls over 3,000m.
Frithville’s William Wright had a good run in the boys’ under 13s 3,000m race over a hilly, wooden and waterlogged course, coming fourth.
William also picked up a trophy for coming third in the Lincolnshire Runner Cross Country League.
Nathan Davey, from Wigtoft, came fourth in the under 15 boys’ race over 3,700m.
Hermione Wright (pictured), from Frithville, came seventh in the gruelling 5,300 under 17 girls’ race.
All four runners have qualified to run for Lincolnshire in the Inter-Counties Cross Country Championships at Cofton Park, Birmingham in March.
They all run for Nene Valley Harriers, and are trained by middle distance coach David Clay at the Princess Royal Sports Arena.
