Bonsor’s triple bonanza helps lead the Lodgers home

A.D.Dickinson Division 2

Graham Bonsor was on top form when Lodgers D met Wrangle B, winning his three. Tony Kime picked up two. A 6-4 victory was assured.

For Graves Park Nomads’ all five played so far have been 6-4 wins or defeats. No. 3 ranked Tris Clow continued his unbeaten run against Belchford in the league, although he lost the second leg to Peter Neep. Chips Davey won two. Harry Paul picked up one.

This, perhaps predictably, was a game won by Belchford, and so the result was… 6-4.

No. 6 ranked Dave Smith made easy work of his straight sets wins against the Graves Park D players as Penmaen C gained the six points they needed to go joint top with the D team.

Number seven ranked Chris Cooke won two, but was swept aside by no. 4 ranked Graham Walters. Penmean secured a narrow victory.

When Sibsey A visited Lodgers H, the hosts won 7-3. Boyd Smith went down in five ends to both Jason Cade and Sam Langford, beating Phil Coote, while Simon Raistrick had some very tight ends in his victories.

Meanwhile, no. 8 ranked Steve Marshall managed to secure the points to put his team in a commanding position.

With the doubles also going Lodgers’ way, the 7-3 victory has lifted Lodgers into fourth position in the league.

Sibsey B enjoyed a 7-3 win against Lodgers C, no. 9 ranked Steve Hill winning with the loss of only one end. Steve Blanchard could only manage to pick up one, while Pete also won one.

Against the run of play, Steve and Pete Bell then teamed up to beat Richard and Wayne in four sets in the doubles to somewhat reduce the pain of this heavy defeat.
