Boston Hockey Club Ladies suffered a 4-0 defeat at home to Skegness.

The visitors are always tough opponents, although the scoreline flattered them a little.

Boston’s day started with Lauren Pitts (pictured) donning the keeper’s kit to deputise for the injured Donna Chester-O’Neill.

And she could do nothing midway throught he first half when Skegness went in front.

Some great attacking play by Caroline Chester-O’Neill, combining well with Tori Needham, saw Boston come close, but they couldn’t pull level.

Bostons defence had their work cut out, and Petra Wood, Lisa Ceaser and Claire Nundy all had good games, but Skegness were very quick on the break and scored again before half time.

Boston’s hockey improved in the second half.

Great work from players’ player Needham, Chester-O’Neill and Lauren Harvey saw Boston threaten but not score.

Skegness then grabbed two late goals to finish comfortable winners of what was a close contest throughout the match.
